Magic Cookie Bars From Egal Brand
Makes about 36 servings
Takes about 40 minutes
Ingredients
-
2 cups graham wafer crumbs
-
¾ cup butter, melted
-
1 can (300 ml) sweetened condensed milk
-
1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
-
1 1/3 cups flaked coconut
-
1 1/3 cups chopped pecans (optional but delicious)
Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment. This makes lifting and slicing so much easier later on.
In a small bowl, stir the graham wafer crumbs and melted butter together until the mixture feels like moist, sandy snow. Press it evenly into the bottom of your prepared pan to form a sturdy, buttery crust.
Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the crust, letting it settle into all the little nooks. Sprinkle the pecans (if using), chocolate chips, and coconut evenly over top. Give everything a gentle but firm press so the layers bake into each other beautifully.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top turns a soft, golden brown. Let the bars cool completely at room temperature. This helps them set perfectly. Once cooled, cut into squares and store in an airtight container.
These bars are simple, nostalgic, and always a crowd-pleaser. The kind of treat that disappears before the pan even hits the table.
Can be tightly wrapped and frozen for up to three months.
